Body Relaxation Techniques involves using techniques to ease the tension from your body.  The way to start calming your mind is by relaxing your muscles first.    There are many relaxation methods that work on both the mind and the body. These techniques listed below are mostly use for relaxing the body.

Types of Body Relaxation Techniques

Yoga.  Do yoga  regularly, which has been proven to reduce stress, anxiety and depression.  Yoga poses align the mind and body, and the breathing element helps to clear the mind and reduces stress.   If you need time to relax and forget your responsibilities, yoga is a good activity for anyone that wants to improve the health of their mind, body and soul.

Massage and Self Massage:   This is one of the best body relaxation techniques.  Massage is an effective way to relieve stress, anxiety, and tension. A massage using essential oils combines the balancing properties of the oils with the relaxing and therapeutic of touch takes you another level of relaxation.

Reflexology:  The foot reflexology technique is designed to massage the foot and help you relax as well as stimulate other parts of the body. Advanced foot reflexology goes beyond foot massage; it incorporates the mind, body and soul.

Relaxation Sleep Techniques.  Relaxation and sleep goes hand in hand for a peaceful sleeping night. When you are completely relax, sleep will follow. Sleep is the natural periodic state of rest for the mind and body. There are certain sleep techniques that can help bring the relaxation on to prepare you for sleep.

Relaxation Bath.  Taking a relaxation bath  can be a great stress relief and a peaceful time to relax  The healing power of warmth and water are two of the best sources for relaxation and comfort to the body.  The combination of delicate scents and warm water will soothe away stress both mentally and physically.

Tai Chi.  Tai chi is a simple and effective way to reach a physical state of relaxation.  This “healthy stretching” releases tension in all parts of your body. Tai chi is also a wonderful mental stress reliever, while at the same time smoothly relaxing your body from your head to your toes.

Progressive Relaxation.  Progressive Relaxation involves concentrating on your body and will help you inspect your every single muscle from head to toe. By doing this, you’ll begin noticing the muscles, which are tense, and you’ll be able to relax each part of your body individually.

Deep Breathing Exercises. There is a scientific reason that breathing exercises work to calm down the mind and the body.  Your body has a natural relaxation response.   Deep breathing exercises are just one way to induce that natural relaxation response.  By doing deep breathing exercises, you can change the way your body responds to stress.

Physical Exercises.  Exercise has been shown repeatedly to be beneficial to stress levels, mental and physical health.
